Crafting & Blueprints

Most items need a workbench of the right tier nearby to craft, even once you know the blueprint — a Tier 1 workbench unlocks basic gear, Tier 2 and 3 unlock progressively more advanced weapons and components.

Blueprints are learned per-wipe. Whatever you unlocked last wipe is gone this wipe — that's intentional, and it's why the server's wipe schedule matters as much as the map itself.

In the crafting menu, typing part of an item's name filters the list instantly — faster than scrolling through categories once you know roughly what you're looking for.

The Research Table

A Research Table consumes scrap and an example of the item to unlock its blueprint permanently for the rest of the wipe. More complex items cost more scrap and are more likely to fail the roll, wasting the item without unlocking anything.

A supply drop — one of the fastest ways to skip the grind if you can get there first.

If you're short on scrap, it's often better to research cheap, common items first — they're more likely to succeed and free up workbench crafting for things you'll use immediately.

Recycling

A Recycler breaks items back down into a fraction of their component resources. It's the best way to turn loot you don't need — extra weapons, junk components — back into something usable.

Worth knowing

Recycling gives partial value, not full value. Only recycle things you're genuinely not going to use.

Cooking & Farming

A campfire cooks raw food into a usable state and provides basic light and warmth. A furnace does the same job at a larger scale and is also how you smelt ore into usable metal fragments.

Planter boxes let you grow crops without waiting on the right biome or wild seed spawns — worth setting up early if your base has spare space, since a stocked farm removes a whole category of food anxiety.

Basic Industrial Automation

The industrial system is a separate layer from your regular inventory and hotbar — conveyors, splitters, combiners, and industrial crafters connect to boxes, furnaces, and workbenches through their own dedicated ports, and everything runs on the same electrical grid you'd use for a turret or an auto turret door. Each moving part typically needs 1 power to function, so plan a spare line off your main circuit before you start building.

An Industrial Conveyor pulls items from a source and pushes them toward a destination, and you can set filters on it so it only moves the specific items you want — useful for keeping raw ore separate from finished metal, or low-grade fuel separate from everything else. A Splitter takes one incoming stream and divides it across multiple outputs, which is the standard way to feed several furnaces from a single storage box. A Combiner does the reverse, merging several inputs back into one line, so output from multiple furnaces or crafters can funnel into a single collection point.

A common starter project is a small sorting loop: run a box of mixed scrap and components through a conveyor into a splitter, filter each output line for a specific item type, and let each line feed its own labeled storage box. Once that's working, the same layout extends naturally into a basic crafting loop — smelt ore automatically, combine the metal fragments, and feed an Industrial Crafter that's holding a blueprint, so raw material dropped in one end comes out the other as a finished product with no manual crafting clicks required.

Worth knowing

Wire everything before you power it on and test with small quantities first — a misfiltered conveyor will happily move items somewhere you didn't intend, and untangling a live industrial loop is far more annoying than double-checking the connections up front.
